Murkon isn't all that horrible, it's just that he refuses to die. You also have to be careful aboot paralysis, as you've noticed. Try to cast spells such that your front three have AC in excess of 65. That will make them immune to all physical attacks, including paralysis.
I found that with one character only, having high AC was all I needed to just hack away at the monsters till they died, but with several characters you might still wind up with some healing to do if you don't use other spells or tactics.
There's a particular item which will make killing Murkon a lot more convenient. Just so you know. You'll still have to be patient, as he has roughly a billion HP.
