I can't get into most of level 6 yet, and when my party ventured to level 7 they quickly got so badly mangled that they couldn't make it back to Kaliti. I've resurrected them all, but I can't afford to get killed again.

A similar response to the one I gave J.I.P. in a nearby thread: spend a lot of time on 5 leveling up. That level is constructed so that it's easy to do. The level with the pools is an area where you can get a lot of experience, allowing you to level up quickly, and a lot of treasure as well. Most of the treasure you'll cash in, but you'll no doubt find some useful things in the pools too.

If you're getting slaughtered on 7, then just slow down and spend time where you are. I probably spent more time on 5 than on any other level, just leveling up as much as I could and increasing my treasury significantly.

> What is a good combination of characters for a newbie? Currently I have one of each class, but this forum seems to imply that this is a "challenge" combination. Maybe three Assassins and three Druids? (I'm just guessing about the Assassins, but I do like the way the Druid's natural regeneration saves on Cure spells.)

Your combination is fine. I liked having 3 assassins and three druids because it made for fewer variables to have to think about, and I really did like the advantages those two classes had over the others. But your party can win without it being a special challenge to do so.

I never tried that. How does he react?
