Murkon's Refuge: Silver key

Come on, give me some clue at least. Where the heck is that silver key? Is it ahead of me or behind me? I'm currently in Teralt and I think I have thoroughly explored levels 8 and 9.

Am I the only one whom the eastern half of level 9 reminds of a deserted village? It always makes me think of the classic platformer game "Ghouls&Ghosts". The music to that windmill level begins playing in my head...
