They died soon after going up the stairs to level 8. I ended up resurrecting my Wizard, casting RESURRECT 5 times, then HEALTH once. This uses up Vitality, but it's way cheaper than resurrecting the whole bunch at Teralt. > > My party should be strong enough to face level 10, right? Everyone is at least level 21, my Wizard is even level 30. My two Knights have about 700 hit points, and all spellcasters have over 200 spell points. > > What do I need to face Murkon? A group of 6 Assassins who know all 72 spells, have 20 thousand hit points, 5000 spell points, speed of 11, and all equipment +3? Or will even THAT be strong enough?
To face Murkon, you only need one Assassin who knows all 72 spells and has 2006 HP and 1006 SP :P
Seriously, perhaps you need to work on your combat technique, and you almost certainly could do with a few level-ups.
Don't be afraid to burn 20-30 SP in a battle. You can always come back home if you find your party's getting a bit weak.
Also, boost the ambush-related stats, Agility and Wisdom, and cast a levitation spell. That'll give you a free shot at most monsters.
Speed also helps. A really fast Knight or Assassin can take out a whole class. Try for Speed 13 or so. you want to see your guy hitting nine monsters per turn if possible. Sacrifice some AC for Speed, especially if your short-range fighters know healing spells. If you have high Agility and Speed, AC won't even matter in most fights.
Good luck with Murkon. Remember to accumulate some cash on level 9 before embarking on a suicide mission. Remember also that any foray into level 10 is presumed a suicide mission.
