Considering that:

1. keys are never found in pools, since pools merely give you a random Item of Specialness; and
2. pools are intrinsically valuable because on level 4 they give you level 7 treasure,

I would surmise that it's unlikely you'll find a key in those pools. That doesn't mean it's not profitable to go there again and again...
