> The sign says you may not pass, so you need to find something that lets you pass. I forget where it is. Once you do, there's a nifty shortcut to the room you're looking for. Anyway, if you can survive on level 3, you may as well kill the monsters there if you want to level up. You can always go up and down a staircase to reset the level and bring back the monsters, so you should find an unending supply.

The item you need to pass the "You may not pass" sign is actually in that big monster hall. Search for a sign that says "There's nothing in here. Really.", but don't believe it...
