Are my characters going to be strong enough?

I'm beginning to wonder about the progress of my characters. I just arrived on Level 7, and my party is as such:

L10 Assassin (retrained from a L12 knight)
L12 Knight (a future assassin)
L9 Knight (retrained from a L12 rogue)
L12 Wizard
L12 Sorceress
L10 Druid (retrained from a L12 sorceress)

What has me concerned is the Hall Of Fame. The parties that have completed the game consist of characters that are of Level 30-40 and higher. And here I am, three levels from the end, and I'm not even halfway to Level 30 with any of my characters. Am I advancing through the levels too quickly? Or do the experience points gained keep increasing at a rate that will allow me to get my characters to these levels?
