The boosters and the conduits are the first two jobs you have to do on board the Corolis, not counting the thing in the kitchen. You won't be able to get into some areas until you fix those. Have you been to Docking Bay C? That's where you go to work. You might also want to do some really stupid things around there. Seriously. Speaking of which, have you found the janitor yet?

Getting into the mines requires someone else's help. You might want to check around the infirmary again. See if there's anybody new in there, and see how that person responds to you. You should then have the means for getting access to the mines.

The fire extinguisher: I just mentioned that because your having it means that you can do certain things -- which you have done. And it will come in handy a little bit later.

I don't think you can make any more trades with the jewelry nut until you deal with the other guy.
