You're right. I forgot about him, probably because he was such a minor character. There are likely other examples that we aren't remembering, too.
I suppose one could consider the supernatural things that Aslan does in the book "magic," but our good lion is obviously meant to be symbolic of Christ, so naturally he would be able to perform supernatural "miracles," wouldn't he?

I did think of him, and I decided that he was a "bad guy," although a fairly tame one as the series goes. After all, he was 1) meddling in things he didn't really understand, and 2) a coward who tricked or forced Digory and Polly into being his guinea pigs rather than put himself into possible danger.

I agree with you. That's why I don't want to just blindly agree with what the Fundamentalist community is saying about Harry Potter; I want to find out for myself, and if I do decide that Pottermania = Bad, then I want to be able to give a good, sound, non-hypocritical reason for my opinion.
