The version I have seen is essentially the same as the blue screen technology used for weather reports--commonly green screen now, I think. Coincidentally, that's the color of the fields, too. Basically, the images are superimposed on the green portions of the fields, so the players and their shadows appear to be "above" the image. Of course, if a particular jersey had some green in it that was the same shade as the field, you might get Invisible Athlete Syndrome. > > Don Monkey
Actually, it can be done with any color. Blue and green are most used simply because these colors aren't present in human skin.
Ok, RGB. Whatever... You know what I mean. No one has a patch of blue skin. Or green. And if they happen to need something green in front of the screen, they put a blue one. Vice versa.
