I'm pretty clueless at this point. I can come and go to the castle as I please, I've given an old man a parchment but apparently that's not enough, and I have, by my count, a goblin, a guard and a dragon in need of slaying, but be dipped if I can figure out how. I can't seem to get the sword from the spirit, and trying odd things has gotten me down to 1 HP. Can I get a kick in the right direction?

My inventory:

Rope
Shield
Ring
Magnifying glass
Jewel
Key
Book
