I'm in the room with the fog, where you have to find your way out (where the options are "north," "south," "east" and "west"). Even knowing the hint that was given, I'm having trouble finding my way out. Can someone please give me a hint or two?
I know it's annoying, but there's really no trick to it other than what that hint says. Basically, you're in this huge grid of an area. Peppered through the grid are "wall" squares, which block passage when you try to walk into them, and "exit" squares, which cause you to exit the area when you land on one. There are, I don't know, five or six of these exits scattered throughout. The reason the hint says to look in the general vicinity of the northwest corner is that there are two or three of these exits up there.
If you be methodical and try to land on every square, you'll inevitably find an exit sooner or later. You can save yourself some time if you try to make a beeline for the northwest corner, then search, say, within four or five squares east and south of that northwest corner. I forget exactly where those exits are, but that's about where they are.
Finding the northwest corner in the first place means getting the "out of bounds" error when you try to go both north and west. Getting a "you can't go that way" (or whatever it says) isn't sufficient. That just means you hit one of those interior wall squares. But if it actually says out of bounds, you know you're on the outer perimeter of the area.
When I playtested the game for the last time before releasing it, I tried making my way to the northwest corner, kept hitting groups of walls to circumvent en route, but I wound up stumbling upon an exit before I even got there. You'll hit one.
