I believe the point is that you get to pick which side the head of the bed is on, and for that matter the corner of the room it's in too. I doubt the reader poll is proposing a bed with the headboard in a specific place and asking if you prefer to sleep on it backwards.

As for myself, I would have to arrange the bed in a corner such that I could have my head to the corner, facing away from the wall, *and* be lying on my left side. Though chances are about 99% I'd wake up facing directly into the pillow regardless. :-}
