Rush Hour 2 (2001)

Reviews and Comments

Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker team up again for a sequel to their surprise hit, Rush Hour. As with the original, the action is lighter than in most Jackie Chan films, although there at least one wonderfully choreographed fight scene and a few incredible stunts, too much focus is given to Tucker's obnoxious. Sometimes he's funny, but as much as half of it is not. The two funniest bits are Chan's anyway, both moments when he tries to imitate Tucker from the original film.

I wanted to like this more than I did. While there are a number of individual scenes that prove rewarding in different ways, there is an unsatisfying unevenness to the whole.
