The early films in the series tended to juggle more subplots than the latter films. The complications work particularly well in this entry, as they eventually all come crashing down on each other. In this film, besides the usual complications at work, Baby Dumpling goes to his first day of school and the amazing family dog Daisy (whose role is comparatively large in this one) is pursued by dog catchers. The usual hysterics ensue.
