Sinbad Comic is currently on hiatus but will eventually return for the fifth and final season.

Is *that* was sent the peasants into a panic? That makes a lot more sense than whatever the movie made happen.

Also, I like "Two points off the starboard minaret." I was thinking, "Cool, accurate terminology," until I got to "minaret." At that point, I just cracked up.

No place is safe from the impending doom that is Sinbad's pecs!

wm: Because Sinbad took great pains to be historically accurate.

It doesn't look to be as late as 13th Century to me. There are half a dozen types of helmets it could be, but my best guess is a spangenhelm, Central Asian in origin, but popular across both Europe and the Middle East between the 6th and 9th Centuries.

The crusades were mainly fought by professional knights and mercenaries, who could afford state-of-the-art armour (the enlisted peasantry couldn't afford to take the years away from the land it would have taken to fight an overseas war). By the 13th Century, this included full-face protection, such as a greathelm or bascinet.

"Return to your homes... Find Shelter..."

Says the obviously out-of-place merchant wearing a 13th century English Crusader helmet...

Indeed, one of the Calif's greatest negotiation tools is to have Sinbad keep trying to give a visiting ambassador a hug.
