Quest of Kael...help with Chorian!

My list includes...rusty sword, magic book and wand, lighter, short knife, strong rope, candle, fishing rod, open oyster, silver idol, mystic cloak and hook. I am at east room where I am facing Chorian and can't get past him or kill him!! I found other way to the mansion via hole. Do I have everything I need to beat Chorian or do I need the blue jewel? If so how do I get it? I've been to the cave and looked for it but no luck. Can anyone help me please?? I'm almost to the end. Thanks in advance.
