I think you're mistaking the meaning here. As I said, in people, I think the eye is drawn to the new and exotic, the unfamiliar. It doesn't really have anything to do with white people being better than Mexicans or vice versa.

Beauty is not as subjective as some think it is, but neither is it entirely objective. If most of the people I've spent my entire life with fit a general mold (medium skin tone, dark hair, dark eyes), and I move to a place where I'm seeing the complete opposite, the new stuff will seem exotic. I would definitely not call that racism, just variations in what is pleasing to the human eye.
