In fact, I know of only one family who has one.
This one is third hand. Our daughter bought a house with the 'fridge in it. She used it a while but wanted a larger one, so she gave it to us. This rattle-trap computer is the most modern thing in our house. We don't own much of anything that was made in this century. Our TV is 15 years old. Our car is seven years old, our truck in 11 years old, and the house was built in 1965 (we got it in '71). But I agree that we have a few luxuries. I have never been to Europe, but I have seen third world countries where almost any nice house in a luxury. For some of those people, food is a luxury.
When I was young, I had nothing, so I am always happy to be living in comfort. When I was in college, I lived on two hamburgers a day for months at a time. I was skinny as a rail. I worked part time, paid my fees at school, bought books, hitch hiked where ever I needed to go, and wore the same clothes year after year. I didn't even own a watch. I lost five teeth because I couldn't afford to go to the dentist.
So I enjoy my little luxuries. I didn't always have things like that fancy fridge. Howard
