KIND-OF SPOILER

I got past 10-->11, but I'm still stumped by it. After thinking about it for a very long time, I kind of cheated by viewing the page source (it seems this is the only page that has any kind of note of the sort on it--at least, so far). I still don't know what the connection is. Anyone care to explain it to me?
