That learning-to-drive thing really got my attention. I learned to drive in 1949, when traffic moved slowly and heavy traffic meant a car every two of three minutes. In today's traffic, I would be scared silly if I had to do it over again. You have to learn to contend with multi-lane highways the cross each other with lane markings, red lights, green lights and various colors of arrows. I was sitting at a light in Knoxville the other day (It took forever!) and just to pass the time, I counted 13 light units over that one intersection. Some of them had as many as 4 lights.

It used to take a block for cars to get up to 30 mph, but now they are going faster than that by the time they cross the intersection. Scary!

I remember those chest pains. I used to get them every time the teacher called on me. Once in 5th grade I had to give an oral report and I thought I was going to drop dead. But now, at 72, I keep hearing doctors tell me I have a good heart. Your mind can play mean tricks on your body.

I hope you enjoy Tennessee as much as I do.
