So, how long until the Internet is no longer the free-wheeling place it once was? If an online cultural change does happen, will it be in any convincing way traceable to lack of a law and its unknown legal effectiveness?

Admittedly, I never researched the matter beyond reading some the-sky-is-falling editorials and some other information at the link above. So I still think that net neutrality is a good idea only if all data has equal need of speed. Since that condition is grossly unsatisfied, net neutrality seems to me to be a stupid idea. If your site needs the priority, you use a host that pays for it; otherwise, you don't. Either way, no sweat.

And yeah, I'll be entirely willing to recant the (entirely passive) non-support of net neutrality if anyone ever notices a significant problem without it.
