People in the Chattanooga area are just minutes from Georgia. There are also people like us who are going down there anyway, so it's a good time to stock up on stuff. Our sales tax varies from about 9 to 9.3 cents on the dollar with hardly anything exempt. In Georgia, it's less than five and some items tax free. You can save several dollars on a medium-sized order of groceries.

We also watch gas prices on the way down, and on the way home we get the best price. Sometimes Georgia is cheaper than Tennessee and sometimes Tennessee is cheaper. We have saved as much as 20 cents a gallon. Even a dime a gallon can save you over a dollar per tank.
