A historian, author of several books on the Civil War, took his grandson, age 5, to Hawaii. They visited Pearl Harbor, and the Arizona Memorial.

At the Memorial, the grandson looked over the side and asked, "Grandpa, why is the boat under water?"

His grandfather explained that the enemy had flown over in their airplanes and dropped bombs on the ships in the harbor and this one was one of those that sank.

The child looked up with big eyes and said, "The Yankees did *that*?"

True story. The grandfather is a friend of mine.
