It might have been a good time to grow up, but that is the period when I worked my back bumper off trying to claw my way out of poverty. Making a living then was not easy. I'm sure the music was good, but the quality of sound on my radio didn't let it come through. My meager record fund didn't allow for too much recorded music, but I did manage to buy a few Glenn Miller and Tommy Dorsey LP's from the period when *I* grew up.
