Alex, age 8, made the comment that funerals are boring. So his grandmother asked him if he had ever been to a funeral. He said that he had and when she asked whose funeral it was, he replied, "Yours."

This all goes back to that anniversary party that was held for us in a funeral home, because we had been married, a long time ago, in the chapel of a funeral home. He smoothed it over a bit by saying that it was boring only part of the time.

I guess since that's where it was, in an 8-year-old mind, that was a funeral.

Grandma and Grandpa both managed to keep a straight face, but it wasn't easy.
