No, you're good, I can't remember how you teleport into that tree, though. I have documented how you get dumped at the front gate, but my notes don't mention the tree. You should be able to get upstairs.

I can't recall the exact sequence, but have you used that cross yet? If not, go back to the second floor; there's more than one vampire up there. Search west of the dining room; there should be one less strange force blocking your way.

If you did that, then you can use the iron key now. Check around the first floor for a door you haven't been able to open yet.
