Similiar enough to the sound of the Hebrew chet for me, I imagine.

Well... we have a tsaddi in Hebrew that's transliterated as "ts" or "tz", and I was told that it's like pronouncing "cats" without the "ca". It is easier to pronounce if it follows a letter with a vowel sound attached, as in "eretz".
