Banana stories

During WWII we were not able to get bananas. My kid sister, born in 1939,* really missed them. She often asked for bananas, but the answer was always the same. "When the war is over."

Then one day she came running in shouting "The war is over! The war is over!" It seems she had seen a guy walking down the street eating a banana.

Frankly, I still wonder where he got it. The Word was that all available cargo ships, including banana ships were busy hauling war cargo.
*you do the math

My other sister used to say, I know how to spell banananana. I just don't know when to stop.

And now for a banana story of a different color:
Did you know that diabetics can eat bananas, but only when they are green? Have you tried a green banana lately? Eeeeeyuk!

So what is red, white, blue and yellow all over?
A star spangled banana.

Enough.
