> Well, the Site Journal entry for August 19, 1998 (the day the forum opened, though to a weird set of circumstances the journal talks about how it'll open in the next few days) just says it's for us to "communicate better" and "make the site more interactive". So maybe there was no purpose from the beginning. Weird. As an aside, I originally expected this board to fail horribly, and am quite glad to have been proven wrong.
