I am so stumped. I traveled back in time and cannot return because I have a "dirty" leaf. Everytime I try to clean it it falls apart. I have been here for hours and I thought I tried everything (evidently I haven't). Need hints please..My inventory is

time machine
blue paint
bottle
cd player
chain
chalk
chart
cheese
coffee filter
demerit
eraser
glasses
glue stick
grass
leaf
mirror
Mrs.Pinto's cd
perma-tie
scalpel
soldering iron
syringe
wire
wrench
