For the lighter, you get that through other means. You have the item you'll need to get the lighter, but that's something seperate from your current problem.

I haven't figured out what happens to the vending machine, but you can deal with the dirty leaf quite easily. Where might be a good place to clean it? Some adjustments might be necessary.
