You can just stop updating, and that's fine. Sorry the game didn't work out for you.

I took a quick look at your game and figured out the likely problem. You bought some equipment for your characters, but you didn't adjust any of it. Usually it's far less cost-effective to go straight for high-level equipment than to get low- to mid-range weapons and armor, then hit the "Adjust" button for some or all of them and make upgrades to it. For example, you could buy cheap chain mail armor, then load it up with bonuses to strength, constitution, and agility, and it would be pretty affordable.

If you wanted to give Monster Arena another shot, this is the strategy I would recommend. Continuing with that strategy right now, you'd be starting at a disadvantage, but you could try it anyway, or wait till you can start fresh next month.
