For Gremlin (Mainly I suppose), or anyone else with ideas? posted by MarieLogan on Wednesday, March 2, 2005, at 19:40:55:

The 22 games are really "sub-games" of The Early Years of which you can only play the first two (Space-Man and Camelot's Curse) when you first start. That's why you weren't able to play Adventure or Spider Attack -- you have to "unlock" them by beating certain other sub-games first. The "Delete Saved Game" button erases data for the AGL game you're currently playing, but in the case of The Early Years, that refers to all the progress you've made on *all* of the 22 sub-games, because the whole package is in one AGL game. What this means is that when you start a certain sub-game of The Early Years, you're committed to solving it before you're allowed to switch over and try one of the other sub-games (with a few exceptions for some of the sub-games, for which you can "fail" and be sent back to the main menu without having completed them).
If you lost a substantial amount of progress by mistake, maybe Sam (his email is sam@rinkworks.com) can restore it from a backup. While I generally know how a lot of the details work, I don't actually have administrative power to do anything other than view player files for the games I authored (as is the case for other people who have authored AGL games).
As for the other issue, deleting your saved game doesn't affect the Hall of Fame. "hikesmountains" has one entry for Outlaws, and it looks like you need to import a couple of other Hall of Fame entries (for Brackly Hall and Fantasy Quest, if I didn't miss seeing any others) from the archives, which is why they don't show up yet under the new system. There's a button labeled "Recover Old Hall of Fame Entries" near the top of the page after you log in to AGL that will let you do that.
Also, there's a "Recover Old Saved Games" button next to that which lets you access games you had in progress prior to 11/15/04. If you had other AGL games in progress, they haven't yet been switched over to the new AGL engine, but your saved data is still intact. You can convert them over to the new system using that button.
