I have

9 red gemstones
guards sword
stone of strengthening
food rations
tinderbox
sticks
string
wire clippers
key of opening
portrait
clear focus stone
crate
hammer
blanket
map
rope is tied to castle and i know how to get into kitchen
im confused about "pondering"
ive pondered several times
gone to blacksmith nothing happens
and dont know how to talk to any one in tavern about the creatures or whatever they are
if any one can tell me how to get to the secret area email me or tell me if i have passed it already. i have an idea but could be wrong

also i'd like to get back to my town for apples but cant find a place to use gemstones
