I tried putting the rope in the hole and touching it to the plates. I tried pushing and pulling, putting in the focus stone and adjusting it and nothing works. Please help!
The reason that I'm bothering with it is because I need one more gold coin for Darius. I don't know why, but I was an idiot and bought wire clippers at the weapon shop.

My inventory is:
559 gold coins
10 red gemstones (just replenished)
life preserver
guard's sword
stone of strengthening
food rations
bucket
rope
wire clippers
portrait
gray focus stone

help would be appreciated thanks
