It is really annoying to calculate as it is (but certainly doable), and it kinda throws off your battle plan when your opponent unexpectly pulls out some Power Armor...

Knowing how much gold your opponent has wouldn't help anyway, because he could just be holding the Power Armor un-equipped, or he could sell something expensive to buy it. For that matter, you'd never know which character had it. But there's always the small consolation that you see your opponent wearing whatever he wore in the last battle. Then again, if he didn't need his Power Armor to win the last battle, and he has it now, you need all the help you can get.

Anyway, Sam's new rules to enhance game balance should prevent someone from winning for the sole reason that one of his characters has a really big stick and a really big shield. His characters will probably have other identifiable strengths, and you can base your strategy on those.

Of course, in real life your three guys would walk into the arena and see that one of the opponents was carrying a light saber and decked out like RoboCop, and the other two were wearing loin cloths (not even robes!) and unarmed. You'd think that would affect their combat strategy somewhat.
