Couldn't you just buy them a second Death Bringer instead? Would that make things fair?

On closer inspection of squidgunner5's party, I am reminded that many parties seem to have a Death Bringer (10, +10), and I've seen some with two of them.

I never spent much money on enchantment, because I just assumed that each successive enchantment doubled in cost, and one point of it melted away with each passing round. However, if every enchantment doubled in cost and the first on a weapon costs 5 gold, the 10th would cost 2560 gold, which can't be maintained on winnings of 500 gold per fight.

So I'm thinking that big enchantments are rather affordable, in which case they should evaporate entirely (not just the last layer) after a fight. That way, enchantments would truly be for one round only, instead of having 9 of them as permanent enchantments and only replenishing the last one every time.
