Early in TOA!!! STUCK

I've got 6 items.

Map of Elkland
Gym shorts
Picket
Backpack
Stylish Shoes
Enrollment sheet

I've changed into the tennis shoes but I was't
allowed the shorts.
I'm waiting for the Key guy to open his shop.
Its Saturday January 21, 2073.
I can't think of anythign to do next.
I'll probably never figure it out! please help! I've
gone all around the Campus several times so
I've lost count!
