Murkons Refuge Level 8-9

I have searched every inch of Level 8 and the half of Level 9 I can get to (thrice!), but I have not found the key to open the door to the other half of Level 9(located on Level 8). I have also tried using all of my Sorcer's spell points to teleport to the other half of level 9 to no avail.

Anyone want to throw me a bone in the form of a hint?
