Tennessee allows a driver with a permit to drive with an adult licensed driver in the front seat. After they get a license, at 16, the can drive alone or with an adult, but cannot carry passengers under 18 until they are 18. Then the restrictions come off. If they follow the rules, they can have more than two years driving experience before going for a ride with their friends.
