Lascassas, Tennessee Feb. 26, 2004 - An unusual snow storm swept in from the south overnight and covered parts of Tennessee with heavy wet snow. Beginning as heavy rain along the Gulf coast, the storm bumped into cold air over Middle Tennessee spilling as much as nine inches of snow. Here in Rutherford County, we can see about three inches. With the temperature in the high 30's, it clings to trees and bushes. You might say it is raining slushballs underneath the trees.

I don't expect this to keep us from going to see Aunt Bertha, or stopping at Sir Pizza's for lunch.. Reports from home, 150 miles to the east, are that similar weather is expected any minute now. We will return home about Saturday and most of this will be gone. We might see a little snow on the plateau where the elevation is about 2000 feet. They say the snow is heavier and the temperatures a little lower up there.

While I was typing this we had a brief, heavy snow shower, but it has stopped now. I can see traffic going by on the highway and cars look like motorboats with water and slush flying as they pass.
