What I'm missing is the depth, the particular knowledge of these musicals. I've gone over the history, learned the big names and the big steps, but the particulars of these shows, that's what I'd like to know. The tricky part is that if I can't get hooked into a musical, I likely end up not looking further into it. Unfortunately, that's the sort of insight that gives me the knowledge to address these issues. As it stands, I know stuff about Webber, Jonathan Larson, some French stuff and a smattering of obscure rock musicals. I figure, if I can find a sufficiently hook-me-in show on this side of things, it'll start to roll from there.
