stuck on FQ2

Inventory = 10 onions, 2 tree branches, sack, small silver coin, silver key, float ring, sap tap, huge ladder, iron support

I can't get by the cyclops or the lion. I got a mirror for the mermaid but she still wants a brush. The clown wants his nose. I healed the Indian but he didn't give me anything, was he supposed to? I can't use the sap tap because I have nothing to collect sap in. Where do I go next??? Please help!
