Oddly enough, I picked Castle-Hughes as a nominee for Best Actress. I decided to do something stupid, since I'm not very good at picking Oscar nominees, let alone winners, and I'd heard a review praising the merits of Whale Rider earlier last year, so I thought I'd give it a shot. I almost never thought she'd actually be nominated. :-/

I thought Seabiscuit was another foolish one - it just didn't seem fit for a best movie for me. Still, I couldn't really think of another film to throw in(as I said, I'm not good at picking this stuff), so I put it in, as it was one of last year's films that I actually bothered to watch.
