On my wife's birthday, last week, we were in Georgia where the weather seemed more like New England. Cold. We both were a little tired of staying inside. So that morning, I wished her a happy birthday and said, "I'm going to take you on a trip for your birthday."

She admitted later that she had visions of Hawaii or the Caribbean. "Where?" she asked.

"Home," I said. It couldn't have worked better if I had planned it. Later that day, we drove home.
