Let me fill you in. The ring is made up largely of carbon and gold, two very different elements. The thing that makes it so interesting is not just the size of the rock, but the fact that it is hand tooled and, judging by the age (about 100 years), it must be a family heirloom. I don't think they make them like that anymore.

While I'm on the subject, let me toss in this little tidbit. My daughter (USA) married a man from South America (Peru). So how did they solve the two countries problem? Easy. His parents retired and moved to the USA. That makes it nice for the grandkids.

It still boggles my brain to think that two of my grandkids have a two-continent heritage. Sometimes I ramble way, way off subject.
