I asked. "Two sacks of mortar", said the voice. "I didn't order any mortar", I said. "Oops, so you did not, I have the numbers mixed up", said the voice.
> Now here's the thing. One, I have never phoned Espoo Starkki to order anything, or even to say hello to them. Two, my cell phone number is very unusual (it consists mostly of ones and zeroes). You have to be pretty darn lucky to dial it by accident. How in the blue blazes did the guy end up dialing my number?

I hear ya. I used to have a phone number that was just one digit off from a bakery. Odd thing was I also made wedding cakes. So a lady calls and asks for so-and-so. I said "Sorry ma'am, you have the wrong number." Then she says "But do you make cakes?" And I said "Yes, I do." The conversation got complicated very quickly and I almost got a cake order. I guess she didn't care who she called, so long as she got a cake. But she kept insisting she did NOT call a wrong number so the call ended with her in a huff because I wasn't who she expected.

I've always wondered what thoughts went through her head. Did she think I hijacked the bakery? Perhaps I was a mysterious baker that showed up overnight and no one else at the bakery knew about it? Or maybe I was trying to ruin the store's business by intercepting calls? People are goofy sometimes and just don't want to believe the truth.
