The exact wording was "Mothers may have careers, but their first duty is to be homemakers." And it sent up a red flag with me. Most people would say "Well, that seems fair." and vote "Agree" automatically, while not really thinking through the wording. They make you feel GUILTY if you disagree (which I do,(Disagree, that is) being a Mother.... my career IS my family, or rather, my family IS my career...) Or, on the other side of it, there are people who would think "WHAT! Of course their first duty isn't to be a homemaker! What kind of right-wing conspiracy is this? A woman should be able to have a career without worrying about her family..." or something similar.

My point is, the wording of a lot of these questions is ambiguous enough that the answers can pretty much be read any way the person taking the poll wants to take them. Which is why I really don't trust polls like this. Or any, really... it's all a vast, right (or left) wing conspiracy (depending on your point of view. Or hey, maybe it's a libertarian conspiracy. What would we call that? (Left-field conspiracy, maybe?) (Just a joke, just a joke...)
