Just got back from the doctor's office. He noticed that I was skinny, but didn't think I was *too* skinny. He looked at my sugar level numbers and proclaimed them to be excellent. Blood pressure down a little too. All in all it was a pleasant experience. He asked me how I felt and I said "good" but I should have said, "A darn site better than I expected to feel at 70."
He complimented my wife on doing a good job of controlling the diabetes with diet. She has really been working hard at it. All I've done is eat what she puts in front of me and try not to think about ice cream.

I have a friend in Florida who isn't doing so well. He is a fellow scooter collector and we have only met via internet, but we have a lot in common. He is no longer able to get to the computer, but his wife keeps his scooter buddies informed. When I hear about people like him who are younger than me, and they have serious health problems, I know I am blessed. Thank goodness I was poor when I was young. I could never afford to drink or smoke. Poverty was a blessing for me.
